GEDOK, an association for female artists in Germany and Austria, was founded in Hamburg in 1926 by Ida Dehmel. The Berlin group was founded later around 1931. After the Nazi repression during World War II, GEDOK was reactivated in 1946. The Berlin GEDOK group was re-founded on March 6, 1960 and included well-known female artists such as Mary Schneider-Braillard and Grete von Zieritz.
The poster shown here was created for the anniversary exhibition of the GEDOK group. This took place from June 19th to July 30th, 1986 in the Staatliche Kunsthalle Berlin.
